Emma C. "Emmie" Ruchko, 64, of Asbury, NJ, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Warren Hospital with her family by her side.
Born: On February 15, 1943 in Trenton, NJ, she was a daughter of the late John and Nellie Sheaf.
Personal: She and her husband, Charles, were married for 31 years. Emmie worked as a waitress for Fiddler's Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, retiring in 1989. Earlier, she was a dental assistant in Dunellen, NJ. She was a 23 year resident of Asbury, NJ, previously living in Bound Brook, NJ. She grew up in Warren Township, NJ, and graduated from Dunellen High School, Class of 1962. Emmie loved trips to Atlantic City, gardening, reading, arts and crafts, and had enjoyed collecting antiques. She was of the Methodist faith.
Memberships: She was a member of the Easton Moose Lodge, and the Young Republican Club in Easton.
Survivors: In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by two daughters, Sally Wilchuck of Phillipsburg and Jennifer Kozic and her husband William of Bethlehem, Pa; a son, Michael Wilchuck of Easton; a step-daughter, Lauri Credito of Mt. Carmel, Pa; two brothers, Wilber Mobus and Gus Mobus, both of Warren Township, NJ; three sisters, Shirl Defilippis of Piscataway, Nancy Cornelius of Warren Township, and Bette Rodgers of Bridgewater; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A sister, Libby and a step-son, Mark Ruchko, died earlier.
Services: Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. Funeral Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home, Washington, NJ.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY 10087-7106.
