Louis
B. Roy, 77, of Washington, died Saturday, June 18,
2005, in his home.
Born: December 19, 1927, in Rouses Point, N.Y.,
a son of the late Maurice and Rosemarie Benoit Roy.
Personal: He and his loving wife, the former
Gloria Roberts, were married 52 years. He had lived in Washington
for 33 years, having moved from upstate New York. He graduated
from R.P.I. in Troy, N.Y. with a degree in Civil Engineering.
He worked as a civil engineer for Mobil Chemical in Washington.
Later in his life, he worked as an engineer for the County of
Warren, retiring in 1994.He served in the Marine Corps at the
end of World War II. He loved fishing, hunting and playing golf.
Memberships: He was a member of St. Joseph
Catholic Church, Washington. He was also a member of Zeta Psi
Fraternity and the American Legion in Washington.
Survivors: his wife; three daughters, Constance
Doolan and her husband, William, of Norton, Mass., Adrienne
Blackwood and her husband, Glenn, of Washington and Francesca
Roy of Neshanic Station, N.J.; three sons,
Anthony and his wife, Patricia, of Hackettstown, Robert and
his wife, Janine, of Allentown, N.J. and Michael and his wife,
Amy, of Mifflinburg, Pa; a sister, Therese Roy of Farmington
Hills, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a
brother, Loyola, and three sisters, Sr. St.
Louis, Andrea Voorhees and Frances Dudas.
Services: A Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday
at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. 200 W. Carlton Ave, Washington,
with Fr. Robert Ascolese officiating. Visitation will be held
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will
be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Washington.
