Doris E. Petty
September 5, 1918 - February 16, 2009

Doris E. Petty, 90, of Washington, passed away February 16, 2009, peacefully at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, NJ.
Born: September 5, 1918, in Washington, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret Coleman.
Personal: Doris was a sales clerk. She worked for Cohen's Dept Store in Washington and Orr's Dept Store in Phillipsburg. Doris graduated from Hackettstown High School class of 1936.
Memberships: She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington.
SURVIVORS: Her loving husband of 20 years Kenneth M. Petty; two daughters, Elaine B. Rush of East Stroudsburg, PA, Mary Ellen Schweitzer and her husband Phil of Summertown, TN; three stepsons, Glen Petty of FL, and his children Brooks, Darrin and Shannon, Brent Petty his wife Charlotte of Ohio and their children Bryce and Matt, Scott Petty his wife Susan of Bloomsbury, NJ and their children Sarah and Kyle; sister Joan Melberger of Oxford; four grandsons Ryan and Blake Rush and Jeremy and Daniel Lee; six Great- Grandchildren. Her first husband Edward "Bud" Brugman owner of Brugman Fuel Service, passed away on December 27, 1981, and a bother Donald Coleman passed away earlier.
Services: Viewing will be on Thursday February 19, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Warren Hills Memorial Home 234 West Washington Ave, Washington, 07882. Services will be at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jack DiMatteo officiating. Burial will be private.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Compassionate Care hospice Foundation, 532 Lafayette Road, Sparta, NJ 07871. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
