Maureen Fitzsimmons
March 13, 1934 - January 24, 2008

Maureen M. Fitzsimmons, 73, of the Brookfield section of Belvidere, NJ, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ.
Born: On March 13, 1934 in Bronx, NY, she was a daughter of the late John and Rose Tierney.
Personal: Maureen and her husband, John, were married for 50 years.
Maureen was a resident of Flanders and Bergenfield, NJ, before moving to Belvidere nine years ago.  She was a homemaker and was employed as a registered nurse.  Maureen graduated from the Bellevue School of Nursing as an RN.  She loved line dancing, was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Memberships: She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Washington, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, served in the Outreach Ministry and also volunteered for Bingo.
Survivors: In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Donovan and her husband William of River Edge, NJ, Janet McLellan and her husband William of Georgia, Carolyn Donahue and her husband Kevin of River Vale, NJ and Susan Helbock and her husband James of Bedford Hills, NY; a son, John and his wife Lisa of Flemington, NJ, and eight grandchildren.A sister, Winifred Benischek, died in December of 2007.
Services: Visitation will be Friday (today) from 3 to 9 p.m. in the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in the church, with Fr. Blaise Baran officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Washington.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. 
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Smile Train, 245 5th Avenue, Suite 2201, New York, NY 10016; or to Save the Children, 54 Wilton Road, Westport, CT 06880.
