Robert L. Fischer, 78, of Blairstown, NJ, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at the Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, NJ.
Born: On February 9, 1928 in Rahway, NJ, he was a son of the late Ernest and Marie Fischer.
Personal: He and his wife, Dee, were married for 43 years. A 20 year resident of Blairstown, Robert moved there from Bridgewater. He was a builder for many years as well as a local land developer. He was a founding partner of Warren Lumber Co. in Washington. Robert graduated from Westfield High School, Class of 1946. He earned degrees in Math and Economics from Gettysburg College. He served in the Air Force during peacetime. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed boating, fishing, and skiing.
Memberships: Robert was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Hackettstown, NJ. He was a member of the Planning Board of Hope and was also a member of the TKE Fraternity.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Dee, he is survived by a daughter, Loren Spann and her husband Max Jr. of Annandale; two sons, Kurt and his wife Kate of Flemington, and Glenn and his wife Beth of Lebanon; two brothers, Richard of Florida, and Ralph of Basking Ridge; a sister, Polly Reilly of Massachusetts; and nine grandchildren.
Services: The family invites you to an evening of reflection to remember Robert on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. Cremation and memorial services will be private. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, Washington, NJ.
