-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dear Family of Mrs. Finita Fensel, I was sorry to read about your mother's recent death.  I taught German at Warren Hills when your mother was a Spanish teacher there.  She sort of took me under her wing, since I was a new teacher to the district.  I certainly appreciated her words of wisdom and helpful suggestions.  She helped to smooth over many a sticky situation and showed me a variety of interesting methods to use in the classroom.  I visited her at her home once when she wanted me translate something for her from German into English.  She was a wonderful teacher who left a great educational legacy at Warren Hills.  With deepest sympathy, Sincerely, Tina E. Haas
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Finita was a member of the Washington Public Library's Board of Trustees when I was hired to begin in 2000.   She was always very interested in helping the library and furthering literacy in the community.  She also served as chair of the Audio/Visual Policy Committee, and would preview gifts to the library for condition and suitability; she also made astute recommendations for new purchases. She had an active intelligence coupled with a lively wit and warm heart, and it was always a pleasure to converse with her.  The  onset of macular degeneration was devastating to her, yet she remained on the Library Board for as long as she could read the large print reports.  Her contributions to the community were numerous, and she will be missed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As a former student I wish to extend my sincere sympathies to the Fensel family. Mrs. Fensel was a great teacher and even better person. She will certainly be missed.
