Catherine
E. Bartow, 92, a 50-year resident of Washington, formerly
of Palmerton, Pa., died Saturday, May 28, 2005, in Easton Hospital.
Born: April 13, 1913, in Palmerton, Pa., a
daughter of the Late Samuel and Cora Costenbader.
Personal: Her first husband, Franklin "Steve"
Robertson, died in 1961, and her second husband, John H. Bartow,
died May 5, 2005. She had graduated from Easton Hospital School
of nursing in 1934. She was employed as a nurse at Easton Hospital
for 35 years, retiring in 1976. Catherine served as 1st lieutenant
in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II in Walter Reed Hospital.
Memberships: She was a member of the Broadway United Methodist
Church. She was also a member of Easton Hospital School of Nursing
Alumni.
Survivors: A sister, Ruth Doney of La.; three
brothers, Earl
Costenbader of Palmerton, Pa., Carl Costenbader of Md. and Ralph
Costenbader of Fla.; a step-daughter, Beatrice Shaw of Washington;
many nieces and nephews; and two step-grandchildren.
Services: A Memorial Service will be held 11
a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005, in Broadway Methodist Church, with
Rev. Joan Palmer officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be in Washington Cemetery.
